Food Delivery App delivery is a digital labour market that has yet to be fully realized, and has also thus not captured the attention of regulators. There is a growing sense of professionalization, but apps still have a strong hold on the deliverers ability to access stable, equitable work. The digital aspect of algorithms helps the apps in this dominating relationship. Especially in the current pandemic, food delivery apps are becoming an essential part of life for many people, and we believe this labour market is only going to grow. Thus, it will be necessary to establish rules around what food app delivery actually is - freelancing, a job, or something new entirely.
